Class: Politicizing Beyoncé; Section: 101

Following in her husband  footsteps, Rutgers University announces  PhD student and lecturer Kevin Allred will teach a course on Beyoncé, called Politicizing Beyoncé. According to Allred the course is not designed to discuss Beyoncé's political engagement or the number of times she performed during the presidential inauguration. However, the course will focused on  Beyoncé the artist, her music, and career. The course will look at American race, gender, and sexual politics."

The coursework will look at Beyoncé's music videos and lyric through the lens of distinguished women's activist and authors such as Alice Walker, Bell Hooks, our favorite Toni Morrison, and even Sojourner Truth. The syllabus will consist of  topics relating to Beyoncé's performances: Are they empowering or stereotypical, and topics surrounding the control  Beyoncé's over her image and career.

A similar course to Beyoncé's can be found at Georgetown University regarding  Beyonce's husband Jay-Z, “The Sociology of Hip-Hop: The Theodicy of Jay-Z!” These course should be interesting.

Are you "Edge" Controlled?

Glamies remember when gel & jam were the best products to keep our edges tight. I have news for you there are new lines of hair products out & they're geared to our edges. Many  Glam Dolls are  transitioning from permed chemically treated hair to natural kinky, curly textured hair. Some Glamies are using protective hairstyles such as weaves and or braids  & others are showing their natural side but Glamies, it is not right to have your edges out of control.

There are several Edge Control products on the market but all Edge Control is not good control.

The best Edge Control on the market right now is:

When I tell you that your edge would be tight after using Carol's Daughter "Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother" believe me. It a gel-wax pomade to smooth rough edges it is flake-free, non sticky, greasy, smells great, & protects hair from heat. The Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother can be used on both natural & permed hair. Carol's Daughter's Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother is more  expensive than other edge control on the market but it is worth every dollar! Carol's Daughter's Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother can be purchased at Carol's Daughter for $22.00

Most populare Edge Control products on the market:

  • Design Essentials : Sleek Edge Control $10.90
  • Organic Root Stimulator: Edge Control $6.00
  • The Edgestick : $89.99
  • Avlon Keracare: Edge Tamer $18.00
  • Essations: Naked Laid Edge Control $11.00

Stay Schemin'

Stay Schemin
Kobe Bryant learned today! Drake said it on Rick Ross song Stay Schemin "you wasn't with me  shooting in the Gym" & Derwin Davis from The Game eluded to the same statement when he told Melanie Barnett Davis "don't get it twisted my hands are the ones that allows us to live the way we do".  Vanessa Bryant sure wasn't with Kobe when he was shooting in the Gym but she sure got paid like she was shooting three pointers! Vanessa was granted $75 Million dollars in property & keep all three mansions including the one they recently built.

I wonder if she will be casted for the new season of Basketball Wives L.A.?

Belle the Beauty

Today the stiletto nail game has changed a lot and as always Fashion GlamLife will show you how Glamies are rockin' stiletto nails now:
